The Stark Turn Players hosts an annual playwright competition as part of the Lake Effect Fringe Festival. 2015’s competition featured eight 10-minute plays written by local playwrights. “Old Folks’ Joint” was written by Sean Kelley and directed by Adam Hyde.

This show featured Jess, a young woman who is disturbed to find illegal drugs in her grandfather’s room during a visit to his nursing home. When she goes to confront his drug dealer, she finds herself the victim of an extraordinarily bizarre kidnapping, and hilarious chaos ensues.
